Water pipe burst issue won’t go away

She said that every time the metro has sent someone to fix the pipes, it bursts again.

Residents in St Christopher Road, Senderwood, were without water for days following a water pipe burst on June 17.

Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys said it has been a major problem in the area for a while.

“Every time Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality sends someone to fix the pipes which later bursts again.

“This has happened three times. Residents have been without water for days. I will be attempting to get water tanks in the area. I am fed up with this problem,” said Humphreys.

Humphreys said the water pipe bursts affects other streets in the surrounding areas as well.

“It is unacceptable that this was not fixed when it was reported,” said Humphreys.

A request for comment was sent to City of Ekurhuleni on June 19.

The water pipe burst has affected other areas of Senderwood.
