Coenrad gets VIP treat from the Bedfordview Fire Station

Wychwood resident Karin Els and her son Coenrad Els got a surprise from the Bedfordview Fire Station (BFS) in Deutzia Road on April 18.

BFS was in the area checking on hydrants close to her home when her son saw the fire truck.

He ran to the gate and began jumping in excitement.

The BFS saw him and pulled over to the side of the road and gave Coenrad and his father Pieter Els a tour of the fire truck.

Karin said the firemen switched on the siren for Coenrad’s enjoyment.

“Such a small act of kindness, which meant going out of their way to interact with the community, made my son’s day and I am so appreciative.

We will definitely be going to the station soon,” said Karin Els.
