Bam-Francis Foundation lends a helping hand to youngsters

JOBURG – The Bam-Francis Foundation will host similar campaigns in Joburg East areas.

The Bam-Francis Foundation held a drug awareness campaign at Kensington Secondary School on April 16.

The campaign was held under the theme “Be Smart. Don’t Start”.

Co-founder of the NGO Portia Mkhushulwa said the campaign was intended to address the scourge of drug abuse among youngsters.

“We decided to start with schools in the eastern part of Johannesburg as we are familiar with the challenges of drug abuse in the area.

“The campaign is designed to develop the critical life skills of the youngsters, which is positive self-image, assertiveness and identifying contributing factors to drug abuse,” she said.

The NGO was founded after Thando Bam-Francis completed his rehabilitation programme, driven by the desire to curb substance abuse and raise awareness on its dangers among the youth and communities.

The Bam-Francis Foundation will host similar campaigns in Joburg East areas.
