The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly raping a six-year-old boy in Troyeville on February 20.
Spokesperson for the station Captain Richard Munyai said a 38-year-old woman alleged that she left South Africa for Mozambique in 2016 and left her son in the care of another woman.
“The complainant came back to South Africa this year. Her son did not tell her what had transpired while she was away but one of the residents in the area informed the woman about the incident,” he said.

Munyai said the complainant asked her son who admitted that he had been raped by a known man who put his hands on his mouth to prevent him from screaming.
“The mother of the six-year-old boy came to the station and reported the matter.
“A case of rape was opened and the suspect was arrested,” he said.

He is expected to appear in court while the police investigation continues.
