Local swimmers return with two gold, silver and one bronze

The Academy team brought home a total of 17 finalist ribbons as well as two gold, two silver and one bronze medal.

The Aquatic Academy recently sent a squad of enthusiastic junior swimmers to compete in the Mini-‘lympics held annually at the Linden Pool in Emmarentia.

This event draws juniors from around Gauteng, and the 25m races are hotly contended by many of the top provincial juniors.

Ribbons are awarded to the top eight swimmers in each event.

The academy team brought home a total of 17 finalist ribbons as well as two gold, two silver and one bronze medal.

Star of the day was Kyle North who won a gold, silver and a bronze medal along with two finalist ribbons.

Annebel Van Wyk won gold in her backstroke event and Jayden Botha won a silver in the breaststroke event.
