WATCH: Video of attack on woman, allegedly in Edenvale, spreads like wildfire

UNCONFIRMED: 'We have no reports of this incident. I am dealing with the matter to establish whether it did take place in Edenvale'- Station Commander

CCTV footage showing a woman attacked and robbed, allegedly in Edenvale, has spread like wildfire on the local community’s social media platforms this afternoon. The footage shows the robbers take her handbag and what seems to be jewellery.

Edenvale SAPS’ station commander, Colonel Moodley said the station has not received any reports of this incident. He told the NEWS he is personally dealing with the matter to establish whether it did take place in Edenvale.

“I have contacted the persons who shared the video and I am in the process of establishing where it happened,” said Moodley.

Moodley said he will inform the NEWS once confirmation has been obtained.

The video shows, what seems to be an elderly woman, standing on the side of the road when a car stops and three men exit the vehicle. The woman is then attacked, robbed and pushed to the ground.
