HRS honours cultural achievers

Learners from the school were acknowledged for their varied talents in music, art and drama.

Holy Rosary Primary School (HRS) recently held its Intersen Phase Cultural Awards Assembly.

Learners from the school were acknowledged for their varied talents in music, art and drama.

Michelle Zongololo was awarded that Neil Jourdan Trophy for excellence in drumming, the Sue Pritt Trophy for excellence in drama, and the Dos Santos Trophy for outstanding performances and love of poetry.

She also walked away with the Cultural Trophy for promise in all three cultural subjects.

Angelique Shewring received the Laraine Roberts Trophy for the most promising orchestral instrumentalist, while Kayla da Silva and Courtney Downes were jointly awarded the Spolander Trophy for outstanding dramatic performance in a passion play.

Erin Buffey received the Marcell Pincus Eisteddfod Trophy for the Intersen Phase, and Kiana da Silva the Giustizieri Trophy for the most promising vocalist in the Intersen Phase.

Caitlin Davies was awarded the Thomas Trophy for an outstanding instrumentalist and the Gibson Musicianship Trophy.

Jinting Ling walked away with the trophy for excellence in art, and Gabriella Harding the Carmi dos Santos Trophy for outstanding commitment to improving communication through drama.

Rivoningo Chauke was awarded the Plunkett Trophy for service to the music department.

Together with Gugulethu Mayisela, she was also jointly awarded the trophy for most promising senior marimba player.
