REMINDER: Stats SA field staff to visit Edenvale

Field staff will be identifiable by their Stats SA ID cards, branded vehicles and branded survey instruments (questionnaires).

Field staff from Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) will visit selected households in Edenvale’s Ward 18 over the next three months.

Stats SA staff will conduct a Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS), which will provide information about employment and the labour market in South Africa, as well as the official unemployment rate.

Field staff will be identifiable by their Stats SA ID cards, branded vehicles and branded survey instruments (questionnaires).

In addition, staff can be verified by contacting the Stats SA provincial office.

Stats SA collects information for the country that informs policy and will be used for planning, decision-making, monitoring and assessment of policies by other government departments, businesses and the general public.

Statistics South Africa is mandated in terms of the Statistics Act No. 6 of 1999 to collect household information from the public.

All information provided by respondents is kept confidential and will not be passed on to any individual or organisation for any purpose.

Data will be released in aggregate format.

Residents are asked to take note that Section 16 of the Act imposes an obligation on all people to answer all questions put orally or in writing to them by Stats SA officials. Everyone needs to answer them truthfully.
