Edenglen High School’s participation in the Beanie and Blanket drive resulted in the collection of 2 000 items.
The warm clothing and blankets were donated by local businesses, students and staff of the school.
Casino Specialised Services (CSS) donated 169 winter packs to the drive.
The winter packs consist of an adult-sized fleece blanket, a beanie, a pair of gloves and two packets of two-minute noodles.
The total value of the donations is R10 200.
CSS has challenged any small businesses in the area to match or beat their donation, in the hope that more people will be warm this winter.
Edenglen High School is thankful to all the businesses, as well as the parents, who helped contribute to the donation drive.
