Decathlon has also created its own passion brands such as Quechua, Kalenji and Tribord since 1996 to ensure attention to the details of the demands of each sport.
These items are sold exclusively in Decathlon stores.
“The company’s purpose is to make sport accessible to the many. At Decathlon we strive to make sport a source of pleasure for everyone,” said Arnaud Gauquelin, chief executive officer of Decathlon South Africa.
He adds that the retail concept is based on “all sports under one roof’’, selling products related to 70 different sports in Decathlon standard stores.
Decathlon hopes to corner the local market with its low prices and high quality sport products.
Through the promotion of the company’s values; vitality and responsibility, Decathlon strives to produce and make high-performance, innovative products designed for the well-being of sports people and accessible to all.
The Decathlon research centre, the Industrial Division, the brands and the Design department work together daily to provide the best solutions for sports people of all abilities.
