Fundraising fun for Modderfontein bowlers

A fun ladies luncheon was held at the Modderfontein Bowls Club on Saturday, June 3.
The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the Modderfontein Bowls Club, as it is a self-supporting club.
Janet Davies, secretary for the Modderfontein Bowls Club, said it was also important to give the women and their friends a chance to get together and experience an enjoyable afternoon.
“The luncheon was in the form of themes for each table and these themes were chosen by the women themselves for their own table with carte blanch as to their decision of decor. The event was successful with all the ladies getting into the spirit of dressing up to their own themes,” said Janet.
The club held a similar ladies luncheon two years ago and they are hoping that it may now become an annual event.
“Lawn bowls is a sociable game and can be enjoyed by young and old, men and women, boys and girls,” said Janet.
