Support the Rotary foundation

By fundraising for the Rotary Foundation future community projects will be possible.

Edenvale Rotary Club has been instrumental in doing good in the community for the past 55 years.

However, without the financial assistance from the Rotary Foundation some of the community projects the ERC has been involved in may not have been achieved.

Linda Clarke, secretary of the ERC explained that the foundation is the financial vehicle which assists Rotary clubs around the world with funding.

In order to give back to the Rotary Foundation in its centennial year, the Edenvale Rotary Club will host a fund-raising event.

The gala dinner and auction will be held at the Modderfontein Golf Club on May 27.

Clarke said guest speaker, Lindiwe Hani, will present a speech entitled, Being Chris Hani’s Daughter.

She said that by fund-raising for the Rotary Foundation, future community projects will be possible.

One of the projects the Edenvale Rotary Club has lined up is upgrading the laundry at the Little Eden Society.

Clarke said the club is applying for financial assistance from the Rotary Foundation to assist in the project.

“This upgrade will be about R130 000,” said Clarke.

Tickets for the fund-raising events will cost R295 per person and bookings close on May 16.
