Diarise Rotary golf day

Proceeds from the event will go towards the various projects that the Rotary Club supports.

The Rotary Club of Bedfordview will host its annual golf day fundraiser on Wednesday, May 10 at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.

Rotarian Ferdi Heyneke said proceeds from the event would go towards the various projects that the Rotary Club supports.

Some of the recipient organisations include the South African Guide Dog Association, the Avril Elizabeth Home, and the National Freedom Network, which raises awareness on human trafficking.

“The golf day has in the past enjoyed the unselfish support of many businesses and individuals in its fundraising campaign and we again appeal to like-minded businesses and persons to support us this year. The competition is a Four Ball Alliance with two scores to count, which accommodates both the serious golfer and those with high handicaps,” explained Heyneke.

“The golfers begin their game with a shotgun start at 12pm, which allows all the players to finish simultaneously and avoid the long wait for dinner and prize-giving that can be most irritating to the players teeing off early in a normal format.

“The day is an excellent opportunity to promote your business, and the fee is inclusive of the cost of the half-way house, dinner after the game and numerous prizes to be won, while enjoying fellowship with your guests,” he added.

“We extend an invitation to businesses and individuals to join us in supporting this worthy cause by sponsoring and/or competing in the fundraising event, while enjoying the satisfaction gained from assisting those less fortunate in our society.”
