Edenvale joins #sawillrise movement

“Any violent demonstrators will be removed from the march,”

Edenvale community members will take to the streets to demonstrate their unhappiness about recent decisions made by the the ruling party.

The march will be held on April 7.

It will start at Horwood’s Farm and end at the Edenvale Library where a memorandum will be handed over to an official from local government.

Linda Mckenzie, a concerned community member, said the march would be a peaceful demonstration.

She said the march will see the demonstrators walk along Second Street and down Van Riebeek Avenue to the Edenvale Library.

“At the library a memorandum will be handed to a local government official,” said McKenzie.

Individuals wanting to take part must be at Horwood’s Farm by 9.30am.

The march is estimated to end at 11am.

Medics and security will be available for the march.

“Any violent demonstrators will be removed from the march,” said McKenzie.

She urged community members to wear plain black clothes and make their own placards.

McKenzie urged community members to use slogans such as;

  •  Our souls are not for sale.
  •  #SaWillRise
  •  Unite against corruption.

Organisers of the march instructed community members not to have hate speech or discriminatory speech on their placards.

Demonstrators should wear hats, sunscreen and bring water.
