UPDATE: SAPS investigates business robbery, two sustain head injuries following Clicks Eastgate incident

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said a man and woman were assaulted with a firearm and suffered minor to moderate head injuries.

Following an incident at Clicks Eastgate Shopping Centre this morning, it has been revealed that two staff members were injured in the head during the incident.

A case of business robbery is being investigated by the Bedfordview SAPS.
The NEWS previously reported that four victims had been hospitalised after the incident.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said a man and woman were assaulted with a firearm and suffered minor to moderate head injuries.

“The man and woman were treated by ER24 paramedics and transported to a nearby hospital,” said Meiring.
No gunshots were reported.
JHI Retail CEO, Nomzamo Radebe, said the incident had taken place at approximately 8:30am while the store was opening.
“Eastgate Shopping Centre management can confirm there was an attempted robbery at Clicks,” she said.
Radebe pointed out that safety and security was their number one priority.
“The safety and security of shoppers and tenants is of the utmost importance to Eastgate centre management and they are working with the SAPS to assist them with the investigation,” said Radebe.
Radebe added that Eastgate Shopping Centre was trading as normal.
