Edenvale SAPS makes 42 arrests

Recent arrests made by the Edenvale SAPS between March 13 and 20 totalled 42.

Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, said the arrests were made for a variety of charges, including:

•  Three arrests for common assault and assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm

•  11 for drug-related charges

•  21 for drunk driving

•  One for drinking in public

•  Two for fraud

•  Two for theft

•  One for shoplifting

•  One for previous warrant of arrest.

Capt Olckers said most crimes of the week were reported in sector two.

He added that crimes of concern were property-related crimes, including residential and business burglaries.

Capt Olckers urged the community to work together with the SAPS and report crimes.
