St Chad’s to host prayer day

"Through this event I hope more attention will be drawn to the challenges women face and that the community can show their support by praying in unity,"

St Chad’s Anglican Church is inviting the community of Edenvale to be involved in an international prayer day.

The event, the Women’s World Day of Prayer, hopes to show support for, and provide awareness of, the struggles women face internationally.

The prayer session will start at 10am and last one hour. Tea will be served afterwards.

The event is planned to take place on March 4 at the church.

Leader of St Chads’ Anglican Women Fellowship, Ms Elna River-Moore, said the event is celebrated in 170 countries and aims to empower women.

“Through this event I hope more attention will be drawn to the challenges women face and that the community can show their support by praying in unity,” said Ms River-Moore.

She said there is no cost for the event but donations are welcome.

“Last year in south Africa alone R 105 000 was raised and donated to various churches in the country,” said Ms River-Moore.
