Helping is second nature to this local

"Once you succeed in life you should help other succeed and pay it forward."

Mr Anthony Sardinha is a strong believer in helping those in need.

The local businessman, who has always enjoyed helping others, urged the community of Edenvale to lend a hand and give back where they can.

“I wouldn’t describe my helping as a passion, but rather a need to make the lives of others easier,” said Mr Sardinha.

Over the years, Mr Sardinha has helped the SPCA, senior citizens and done various favours for people.

In 2011, Mr Sardinha established a collection point at his business where community members could donate items.

The items were then taken to various charities in Edenvale.

Mr Sardinha said he is currently assisting Edenvale Child Welfare after seeing an announcement on social media where people were requested to assist the organisation.

“At the time, I was actually looking for an organisation I could establish a long lasting relationship with and assist with projects,” said Mr Sardinha.

With the assistance of Mike Sibanda, from Prominent Paints, Mr Sardinha said he has been able to help child welfare repair and repaint the roof.

Mr Sardinha said he will continue to assist child welfare repairing and renovating whatever needs to be fixed.

“Once I have fixed as much I can, I will continue to assist the society and raise funds for them,” said Mr Sardinha.

Mr Sardinha said he could not put his finger on the moment he decided to help people in need it was just something that happened.

He said as he grew older he realised that some things are unfair in life and not everyone has the same opportunities.

As he got older Mr Sardina started to believe that people who can help, should help those in need.

“I want to urge those who can help, to help those in need. Once you succeed in life you should help others succeed and pay it forward,” said Mr Sardinha.

He believes that if the community in Edenvale assists those in need, the town and community will become great.

“I believe everyone has a desire or a want in them to assist others, it just develops at different times in people’s lives,” said Mr Sardinha.
