Tumisi takes model of the year crown

Tumisi, a learner at Eastleigh Primary School, said his drive is his family.

Edenvale learner Tumisi Mokhatla recently won Overall Model of the Year for 2016.

The 11-year-old Birch Acres boy beat 92 other students and smiled his way to come out tops at Edleen’s Model Manifest Kempton Park.

Tumisi, a learner at Eastleigh Primary School, said his drive is his family.

He loves modelling and one day his dream is to become a medical doctor.

Not only does he model and work hard at school, but Tumisi is also involved in community projects such as ELDAC, an organisation that works against drugs and alcohol abuse, where he speaks to and motivates his peers to stay away from these dangerous substances.

His motto in life comes from the late former president of South Africa and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela, who said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

The ambitious young man joined the Edleen modelling school in November 2015.

Mokhatla’s undeniable talent has won him countless titles before, including: Face of Model Manifest winner 2016, Mr Eastleigh Primary School winner 2015/2016, Mr Rand Show Junior winner 2016, Mr Senior Scorpio winner 2016, Jnr Mr Mad Rage winner 2016, Mr Northern Gauteng winner 2014/2015, Mr Pre-Teen Pageants SA winner 2015, Pre-Teen Best Model SA winner 2015, Mr Derdies winner 2015, Mr Animal Care Junior 2015 and Junior Overall, Mr Pre-Teen Gauteng winner 2014/2015 and Mr Look of Las Vegas winner 2015.
