Final meeting for the Edenvale CPF

"Let us all get involved in the battle against crime."

The Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF) held its final meeting of the year on November 30.

Working together creates a safer community

Chairperson Ms Linda McKenzie thanked the community for the support during the course of the year and Col Robbie Roberts, station commander of the Edenvale Police Station, surprised the Edenvale SAPS volunteer councillors by awarding them with certificates of appreciation.

Col Roberts was also awarded a certificate by Ms McKenzie, on behalf of the ECPF, to thank him for all of the work he had done.

After the words of thanks, the evening progressed as usual and crime reports were presented.

Col Roberts said the community had played a big role in fighting crime by providing the SAPS with information, over the past year, and that this remains vitally important to the police.

“Let us all get involved in the battle against crime,” said Col Roberts.

“It is now silly season and members of the community need to be extra careful.”

He added that many people will be going away on holiday and, therefore, emphasised the importance of communication between neighbors to help prevent crime.

“If neighbours know what is and is not meant to be happening at the house crimes can be prevented. We have to work together in the fight against crime,” Col Roberts concluded.
