Dedicated runners rewarded at parkrun

At the 32nd Gillooly’s Parkrun for 2016, a number of awards were handed out to participants who had completed either their 50th or 10th parkrun.

The November 26 run saw over 550 participants taking part.

T-shirts and certificates were handed out to the award winners who reached their milestones.

Participants who had completed their 50th parkrun included Ms Virginia de Sousa, Ms Monica Wingrove, Mr Manny Faria and Ms Kathy Eschner.

Some of the younger participants attending the parkrun also achieved their 10th parkrun run milestone.

These participants included Emma Lauf, Whitney Lauf, Tatum Lauf and Robbyn Faherty.

The top three participants at the parkrun were:

Mr Donald Mashamaite, who finished first with a time of 18:21.

Mr Pharson Magagane, who finished second with a time of 18:29.

Mr Tshepo Mahlatsi, who finished third with a time of 18:39.

The Gillooly’s Parkrun is held at Gillooly’s Farm every Saturday at 8am.

The run, which sees hundreds of runners participating, is 5km long. Those taking part in the run are all volunteers.
