Manager arrested for murder of employee

Woman's throat slit. Suspect arrested at hotel in Edenvale.

A woman was found with her throat slit and hands and feet tied at a Kensington business this evening.

Constable Mpho Mashakane, Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said the woman was at work yesterday when she was asked by the manager to remain behind to take stock.

“He told her to stay later because she was late for work yesterday morning,” said Const Mashakane.

“No one knew what took place during the night. When other workers reported for duty in the morning she was not there. At about 4pm they decided to go to the police station to report her missing,” said Const Mashakane.

She was later found in the store room at her place of work. It is believed her throat was slit with a knife. Her hands and feet were tied with electrical cables.

“The suspect apparently came in in the morning to delete footage and fled. He was arrested at a hotel in Edenvale,” said Const Mashakane.
