SAPS increases visibility through operation

"The stop-and-search operation was held to combat residential robberies and residential burglaries."

The Edenvale SAPS covered all sectors during a crime prevention operation in a show of zero tolerance towards crime.

Ten illegal immigrants were arrested during the operation, which was held on October 19.

“These people were arrested as they did not have the correct paperwork,” said Captain Jean Olckers, the spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS.

He said 55 individuals and 79 vehicles were searched during the operation.

“The operation took place in all sectors of Edenvale and it was aimed at increasing the police’s visibility in the Edenvale area.

“The stop-and-search operation was held to combat residential robberies and burglaries,” said Capt Olckers.
