Between October 10 and October 3, the Edenvale SAPS made 16 arrests
Captain Jean Olckers, the spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, said the arrests made were as follows.
- Two for assault common.
- Two for theft.
- Two for the possession of house breaking equipment.
- Two for shoplifting.
- Three for the possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
- Two for the possession of drugs.
- One for drug dealing.
- Two for fraud.
Capt Olckers said with the arrests made in connection to shoplifting, the security personal at the shops played a big role.
“Shoplifters, think twice before you take something,” said Capt Olckers.
He said the security guards know what they are doing and keep an eye out for shoplifters.
