Alert resident’s tip results in trio’s arrest

"The vehicle was stolen earlier that day in Alberton."

Three suspects have been arrested for being in possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

According to Captain Jean Olckers, the spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, the suspects were arrested in sector one and are aged between 20 and 40.

The suspects were arrested on October 8.

Capt Olckers said officers from sector one received a complaint from a community member in connection to a suspicious motor vehicle that the community member suspected was stolen.

“The police officers went to the address and found the three suspects and a vehicle which the suspects were already stripping. The vehicle was stolen earlier that day in Alberton,” said Capt Olckers.

Capt Olckers said the suspects will appear in court on charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

He thanked both the Edenvale SAPS and the community for their alertness.

“Together we can make a difference,” said Capt Olckers.
