Colour me bright

"Colour for me is like breathing in fresh air and I want to share that in my paintings,”

Artist and art teacher, Ms Loréna Ruffini will be hosting a demonstration using oil paints, showing how she achieves the bright clean colours in her paintings.

“Loréna will show you how to keep your colours fresh, clean and vibrant in oils, as well as how masterful brush strokes create an impressionistic painting,” said Mr Terry Baker, the chairman of the Paint & Palette Group.

According to Ms Ruffini, she draws inspiration from the vibrant colours around her.

“Colour for me is like breathing in fresh air and I want to share that in my paintings,” said Ruffini.

Over the years Ms Ruffini has taken part in a number of exhibitions with the Brush and Chisel Group, the Paint & Palette Group and the Marist Brothers College Exhibition.

In 2016 Ms Ruffini won the Paint & Palette Competition with her colourful pet portrait entitled ‘High Energy’.

Ms Ruffini will demonstrate her oil painting techniques on October 15 for the Paint & Palette Group at the Edenvale Community Centre.

The demonstration will begin at 1.30pm for 2pm.

Entrance fee is R50 for visitors and R20 for members and will include refreshments.
