Jeppe Girls opens new sports pavilion

The exhibition match was a SA Women's Hockey team against a combined Jeppe and Parktown girl’s team.

On August 19, Jeppe High School for Girls opened its new sports pavilion.

“We have been working hard to get the pavilion built. We did not have proper changing rooms and bathrooms. Now with the new pavilion we have toilets and a tuck shop and now parents and teachers can have a place to sit and watch the games” said Miss Goncalves, Jeppe Girls headmistress.

On the day, there were a number of hockey games played in a six-a-side event.

The U/14, U/15 and U/16 teams took part.

The Jeppe Girls 1st XI played against Parktown Girls High School.

The teams were evenly matched and the score was 4-4.

The exhibition match was a SA Women’s Hockey team against a combined Jeppe and Parktown girl’s team. The provincial players beat the girls 6-2.
