Residents invited to spring fête

Members of the community are invited to attend the event which is scheduled to start at 10am.

It is all systems go for this year’s instalment of the Arbor Village’s annual spring fête.

Taking place on September 10, organisers of the event have promised nothing but a family fun day filled with entertainment.

Ms Shirley Valdal said proceeds from last year’s fête were used to purchase panic buttons for residents.

“The committee saw it fit to purchase these buttons so that should someone fall in their unit and they are unable to reach the phone they can press the button which they wear around their necks, to call for assistance,” said Ms Valdal.

She said money raised as this year’s event will cover new security upgrades.

“We are hoping to upgrade the current system at the gate to one that will allow the guards to call the units for confirmation before they can let visitors into the village,” she said.

Members of the community are invited to attend the event which is scheduled to start at 10am.

“At Arbor we don’t disappoint. There will be entertainment for every member of the family. Our stalls will range from crafts to boerewors rolls to cakes. We invite residents from Bedfordview and the surround areas to come and have fun with us on the day, while raising funds for a good course,” said Ms Valdal.

Arbor Village is situated on Smith and Bradford roads in Bedfordview.
