Two killed in crash at Gillooly’s interchange

It's reported by eyewitnesses that the vehicle lost control after it's rear tyre burst, swerving off the highway and colliding with a concrete pylon.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, at approximately 2.30am, Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to reports of a serious crash on the N3 south at the N12 West split, an the Gillooly’s interchange.

It’s reported by eyewitnesses that the vehicle lost control after it’s rear tyre burst, swerving off the highway and colliding with a concrete pylon.

Paramedics assessed the two occupants and found that both had sustained multiple severe injuries, and showed no signs of life.

They were declared dead on the scene.

The scene was handed over to EMPD’s specialist Accident Investigation Unit for a full investigation.
