Society introduces residents to orchids

The community of Edenvale and the surrounding areas supported the 11th annual Mother’s Day Orchid Show, which was hosted by the East Rand Orchid Society (EROS).

The Edenvale Community Centre hosted the show from May 6 to 8.

The purpose of the show was to introduce the public to orchids.

“We want to introduce orchids to the public and host demonstrations to show people how to do basic orchid care.

“We also want to attract more members to the society,” said the EROS chairperson, Mr Andre Van Wyk.

Around 100 plants in full bloom were showcased over the weekend.
