Locals support St Giles market

If people or the community want to help St Giles, they can donate unwanted items to the charity shop.

The St Giles Home for the Physically Disabled in Kensington hosted its morning market on April 30.

According to Ms Dianne Hasapis, the market boasted a good turn-out.

“The home is grateful for the help from the community and schools. A lot of goods were donated for the market,” said Ms Hasapis.

She said the home, which was established 60 years ago, finds itself under huge financial pressure.

Ms Hasapis, who is in charge of organising activities and events said, ”We can’t be allowed to disappear. Organising the event took a lot of late nights and quite a bit of help.”

If people or the community want to help St Giles, they can donate unwanted items to the charity shop or even just loose change.

“We will collect, we are desperate. The charity shop sells good quality items. Items that cannot be sold, are donated to those in need,” said Ms Hasapis.

Anyone willing to help, or get in contact with St Giles, can do so by phoning 011 615-7651 or 072 236 2807.
