Undisclosed amount taken in armed robbery
An unknown amount of money was taken.
Two men took an undisclosed amount of cash in an armed robbery in the Stoneridge area on Friday.
According to a security guard, the robbery took place at approximately 11am in a parking area of a local shopping centre.
“The victim parked his car and the robbers, who followed the victim from a bank in the area, parked next to the victim and proceeded to take out a firearm and took the money,” the guard told the NEWS.
The Edenvale SAPS acting communications officer, Warrant Officer Jean Olckers, said the duty officer confirmed that it was an armed robbery.
“The victim was followed from a bank in the area. A silver BMW X5 was used for the robbery and an unknown amount of money was taken,” said W/O Olckers.
