MAD Penny thanks community

The new time slot is 2pm and will be held at the Befordview Methodist Church.

Ms Penny Steyn has expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by domestic workers and their employers.

Affectionately known as MAD Penny, Ms Steyn said as much as there were new faces at her relaunch session, there were also many people who had attended her meetings over three years ago.

The next meeting will be held on March 30 and will be addressing the topic, habits and routines to avert crime.

“This lesson is jam-packed with such important crime prevention tips. Criminals patrol our streets, and the observation of victims continues right up until they are ready to commit a crime. The criminals love to attack during the day when domestics and gardeners are in and out of the property and the alarms are off.

“We have to equip employees with information to be one step ahead of the criminals’ new modus operandi and teach them routines to avoid becoming victims to them,” said Ms Steyn.

During the previous meeting, Ms Steyn was requested to change the time to allow members to complete chores before attending the sessions.

The new time slot is 2pm and will be held at the Befordview Methodist Church.

Ms Steyn said she is building a MAD army and would not like to leave anyone behind.

“Employers should encourage their staff members to attend these meetings because it is where we empower them with information and what to do in the case where criminals attack,” she said.

She said one of the biggest challenges faced by police during investigations is the lack of information.

“This is where we come in. We tell the people where to put the panic buttons, things to remember for when the police arrive as well as what to do when your life is being threatened,” said Ms Steyn.
