Members encouraged to enter art competition
Only original artwork produced from artists' reference material will be accepted.
The Paint & Palette Group is inviting members to participate in a summer art competition.
The competition will take place in tandem with the group’s monthly demonstrations.
The organisation seeks to to encourage members to be actively producing new artwork, and to give them a platform of recognition.
It will present an opportunity for members to see one another’s work and learn from it.
Only original artwork produced from artists’ reference material will be accepted.
It must be a new work that you have done within the last year, which has not yet been formally exhibited.
The maximum size of the artwork is 1 metre by 1 metre, excluding the frame.
Artists may enter as many works as they wish. Only paid up members of Paint & Palette, who have been a member for at least six months, are eligible to participate.
Winners stand a chance of winning R1 500 for first prize, R1 000 for second prize, R750 for third prize and two merit prizes of R250 each.
The competition will be held on November 21 at the Edenvale Community Centre.
The entry fee is R50 per artwork. Paint & Palette certificates will be awarded to all winners. Two merit awards will be selected by the Paint & Palette committee.
