UPDATE and VIDEO: Firemen still battling to put out #FactoryFire
Firefighters still on scene battling to put out flames. Cause to be investigated.
The fire department is still battling to put out the fire that has so far destroyed a building belonging to Silver Energy, a plastic recycling company in Eastleigh.
According to Mr Paul van Aarde, owner of a neighbouring business, the fire started just before 8pm.
NEWS journalist Sacha-Lee Solomons is at the scene and reports that the building is still on fire hours after it was reported to have started.
Although the actual cause of the fire has not been made public, on scene information suggest the health department had issued a number of warnings to the company regarding safety measures.
Mr Aaron Mafunda speaking on behalf of the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services said the cause of the fire will be investigated.
