The club’s coach, Derick Marcisz, said 24 competitors were novices.

68 Jeppe Quondam Athletics Club members finished the Old Mutual Two Oceans Ultra-Marathon in Cape Town recently.

The club’s coach, Derick Marcisz, said 24 competitors were novices.

“It was fantastic to see so many novices competing and finishing 56 kilometres,” he said.

He said his team was led by Mistake Moffat, who finished in a time of 3:52. Themba Malgas finished second, with a time of 3:58.

“Both showed excellent pacing with Mistake running a slightly faster second half. Our first woman was Candice Humphrey who finished her 10th voyage in a time of 5:07,” said Marcisz.
