Parking incident was not intentional

When the car guard waved her into the parking spot she did notice where she was parking.

The Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF) has publicly apologised to the Edenvale community after a photograph was sent to the NEWS of a ECPF vehicle parked in a disabled parking bay.

The photograph was taken on Monday in the Edenvale CBD.

Chairperson for the ECPF Mrs Linda McKenzie took the opportunity to point out that while members of the organisation try to behave in an upstanding manner, they are also human.

“Yes we too make mistakes like anybody else and we do take ownership of our mistakes, although the mistake was made not out of malice or intention but as another human being,” Mrs McKenzie said.

“The women whose vehicle it is, is 72 years of age and had suffered the tragic death of her 16-year-old granddaughter,” she said.

“When the car guard waved her into the parking spot she did not notice where she was parking. Her total dedication to the ECPF as well as SAPS is unquestionable giving up her time to support a good cause and also giving back to the Edenvale community,” Mrs McKenzie said.

“We as the ECPF have supported her in the trauma she experienced and will support her through this tough and unnecessary incident. We have also accepted her apology with the unintended mistake,” she said.
