Resident launches a clean up campaign

Mrs Zunde was inspired to do the little she can wherever she is to make a difference.

Senderwood resident, Mrs Yolanda Zunde, has taken matters upon herself to keep South Africa clean.

Mrs Zunde, with the help of her husband Mr Mike Zunde, her two friends; Bedfordview resident Ms Amy Pereira and Mr Richard Longford, started the campaign Keep South Africa Clean.

Mrs Zunde was inspired to do the little she can wherever she is to make a difference.

“If we could all clean up after ourselves and pick up the piece of paper in front of us, then we would have a cleaner society,” said Mrs Zunde.

The team went on its first ‘mission’ last Saturday to clean up Marcia Street along Bruma.

Some of the items the team picked up were nappies, used takeaway containers, bottles and plastic bags.

Mrs Zunde called on residents to like her page on Facebook.

“Residents can contact us if they need us to join them in cleaning up their neighbourhoods. I also wish to emphasise that littering does not create jobs, it only makes our society dirty,” she added.
