Reaction officers catch two after Terrace Road burglary

Reaction officers were patrolling along Terrace Road when the spotted two men walking towards the Betchana Taxi Rank, each of them carrying a black bag.

Shortly before 2am this morning alert reaction officers from Mamba Strike Force’s Special Operations Unit arrested two men with property they had stolen from a house on Terrace Road.

According to operations director for Mamba, Mr Kevin Norman the reaction officers were patrolling along Terrace Road when the spotted two men walking towards the Betchana Taxi Rank, each of them carrying a black bag.

“The reaction officers called for back-up. When the officers approached the two men they attempted to flee. One of the men was caught in a nearby field while the other was apprehended at the taxi rank,” Mr Norman said.

He added that it was later established that the men had broken into a premises on Terrace Road.

“The home owner was not on the premises and all recovered goods were returned,” Mr Norman said.

The two men were handed over to the Edenvale SAPS for further processing.
