Suspects flee scene of attempted burglary

The suspects disconnected all the computers in the office and placed them at the door of the shop ready for collection.

An unknown number of suspects fled the scene of an attempted burglary at a tyre fitment centre in the Edenvale CBD on December 19.

It is believed that they were disturbed by a responding reaction officer from Mamba Strike Force.

The incident took place shortly before midnight.

Operations director for Mamba, Mr Kevin Norman said the suspects had gained access to the property through the roof.

“They then ripped wires from an alarm panel to disarm it before gaining access to an onsite office,” Mr Norman said.

He added that the suspects then disconnected all the computers in the office and placed them at the door of the shop ready for collection.

“Shortly after midnight the suspects fled the property without taking anything. We have reason to believe they were disturbed by a responding officer,” Mr Norman said.

The scene was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.
