Village Toastmasters lends a helping hand

The money for the donation was raised from members’ contributions for fun misdemeanours during meetings.

Village Toastmasters recently held its November meeting with the theme of great expectations.

The meeting was slightly different, as Village Toastmasters president, Mr Michael Rozanski, presented a donation to Ms Carol Smith from the Kempton Park SPCA.

The money for the donation was raised from members’ contributions for fun misdemeanours during meetings.

In return, Ms Smith presented the Special Paws Award to Mr Rozanski, who accepted the award on behalf of the group.

As usual, there were entertaining impromptu and prepared speeches.

Mr Laurence Newman walked away with the best prepared speech for the evening, with his entertaining speech about his recent visit to Angola.

Village Toastmasters meets the third Tuesday of every month at the Trinity Presbyterian Church situated on the corner of St David and Koster roads in Elma Park.
