Romance writers to meet

The two-day event will be held on October 25 and 26 in Melrose, Johannesburg.

The NGO, Romance Writers Organisation of SA (Rosa), will host a first of its kind conference which will see a host of romance writers congregating to share ideas and industry trends.

Nicki Bosman, the vice chairperson of Writers 2000 in Edenvale, will speak alongside renowned industry names like Hester Carstens of NB Uitgewers, publicity and marketing experts, Helen Holyoake of Helco Promotions and Tristan Banha of The Juice Box.

The two-day event will be held on October 25 and 26 in Melrose, Johannesburg.

There will be a variety of activities on the day, including panel discussions, writing workshops and a gala dinner.

Various authors will be present, including, Elsa Winkler, published in both English and Afrikaans, author for Mills and Boon Joss Wood, Rebecca Crowley from the United States and a successful self-published local author, Rachel Morgan.

The conference will afford authors an opportunity to pitch their unpublished manuscripts to various editors, including Harleguin UK (Mills and Boon), Harper Impulse (an imprint of Harper Collins) and US agent Laurie Mclean of the Foreword Literacy Agency.

Those attending on Saturday will pay R830 for entrance and R970 on Sunday. Should residents attend both days, a discounted price of R390 is available.
