Spring Fair this weekend

Just a few days left for the biggest annual event in Kensington.

The Kensington Spring Fair will take place in Rhodes Park on September 7.

In addition to the several fascinating stalls and displays on offer, there will be dancers, singers, trained dogs, martial arts and more on offer.

Stirring sounds of the piper will open the fair at 9am.

People can also enjoy a variety of food which will be on sale.

The Kensington Spring King and Queen Pageant is also set to take place.

Tanielle Da Silva (12), Miss South Africa Youth 2014, will host the event.

All proceeds from the pageant will go to the Dobela Benefit Fund and Impilo Children’s Home.

The winners of this year’s event will become ambassadors for the Ilka.

Judges include Mr South Africa, John Owen, Mrs South Africa finalist, and Drieka van Staden.

There will be in excess of R 10 000 worth of prizes up for grabs.

Pick n Pay Darras Centre has come on board as a sponsor. Local businesses are encouraged to become part of the event and assist with sponsorship for the event.

There are categories for boys and girls of all ages. For the less experienced girls and boys there will be a Miss and Mr Rising Star.
