Half-naked man found murdered in Edenvale CBD shop
Neighbouring shop owners reported a suspicious man lurking around the store two days before the discovery of the man’s body.
A half-naked Chinese man was found dead in his shop in the Edenvale CBD on Wednesday evening last week.
According to the acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, the man was found with stab wounds to his back.
“There were no signs of forced entry into the store or that a robbery had taken place. It is suspected that the man had been dead for one or two days prior to the discovery of his body,” said Lt Col Roberts.
He added that neighbouring shop owners reported a suspicious man lurking around the store two days before the discovery of the man’s body.
“Officers also found the man was running a grocery store as well as a massage parlour from the premises,” said Lt Col Roberts.
A case of murder was registered with the Edenvale SAPS.
He urged anyone with information about the man or the murder to contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Maluleka, on 011 553-8632.
