Man arrested for bribery and stolen copper

One of the officers stopped the vehicle, proceeded to search it and found copper belonging to Eskom.

The Bedfordview SAPS arrested a 34-year-old man for bribery and the possession of suspect stolen property on July 18.

Two Bedfordview officers were patrolling the Elandsfontein area in Alamein Road.

One of the officers saw a vehicle containing scrap metal.

One of the officers stopped the vehicle, proceeded to search it and found copper belonging to Eskom.

The officer asked the driver where he is transporting the copper to. Unsatisfied with the man’s responses the officer informed him that he will be arrested.

In an attempt to avoid apprehension the man offered the officer a bribe of R1 800. The officer then arrested the man. @BedfordJourno
