Alert employee identifies fraudulent identity

A cellular phone store employee was assisting clients when a man approach, requesting to upgrade his cellular phone contract.

The Bedfordview SAPS made another fraud related arrested on Friday, July 11.

A cellular phone store employee was assisting clients when a man approach, requesting to upgrade his cellular phone contract. The employee asked for the man’s ID book.

“When the woman checked the ID book, she became suspicious. The employee checked the name in the ID book. The ID book belonged to a person in Durban. The police were called and the suspect was arrested. He will appear in the Edenvale Court soon,” said the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi.
