Onesie Run raises donations

The entrance fee for run was a donation of old clothes, food and blankets.

Runners donned onesies when the Rand Road Warriors held its inaugural Onesie Run on Saturday morning, June 21.

The 8km run started at the Virgin Active in Karaglen at 6am. The run was held to mark the winter solstice.

The entrance fee for run was a donation of old clothes, food and blankets.

According to Mrs Celeste Melville, “The run was awesome and everyone who participated enjoyed themselves. The aim of the run was to celebrate the winter solstice and collect donations, which will be given to the Edenvale Methodist Church soup kitchen.”

This was the first onesie run and we intend on making it an annual event to help charities,” said Mrs Melville.
