Ninth Krejcir associate arrested

Borislov Mike Grigorov, a Bulgarian national identified by the SAPS as Radovan Kejcir’s accountant and right hand man, was arrested and taken into custody on Monday, June 9.

The special ,multi-disciplinary task team set up by National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega made the arrest.

“Grigorov faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as the murder of Phumlani Ncube,” said the SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale.

Ncube was believed to have been involved in criminal activities and worked for Krejcir as a debt collector.

Lt Gen Makgale said, “Grigorov was arrested at the Benoni SAPS when he reported to the station as part of his bail conditions for unrelated fraud charges. We believe he played a role in each and every criminal charge and allegation against Krejcir. He will appear, along with Krejcir and others, at a later stage to face charges including kidnapping and attempted murder,” said Lt Gen Makgale.

“The team investigating Krejcir has made progress and we can say with confidence, more charges will be brought against Krejcir and his co-accused. The team has worked hard on this matter and we believe we have a strong case,” said Lt Gen Makgale.

This arrest came just two weeks after the arrest of a 36-year-old man, allegedly known as ‘the hitman’ in the criminal underworld and an alleged associate of Krejcir.

According to Lt Gen Makgale, there is sufficient reason to believe this suspect could also be linked to the Bedfordview killing of Lebanese businessman, Mr Sam Issa.

This latest arrest brings the number of suspects arrested in connection with Krejcir to a total of nine. @BedfordJourno
