Tyla’s supporters give back and donate blood

The tumour was discovered during a brain scan.

Tyla Thorne is a brave little girl who was operated on in March to remove a brain tumour.

During the seven-hour operation on March 26, she needed a lot of blood and because of this, family and friends donated blood at the Bruma Satellite Blood Donor Centre on April 15 to help those who may find themselves in similar situations as Tyla.

The tumour was discovered after Tyla lost her balance and bumped her face on a couch on March 20.

The following day she started vomiting and her parents took her to hospital.

The tumour was discovered during a brain scan.

Mrs Tanya Rademan, a family friend, decided to host the blood donor drive in recognition of all blood donors.

“It is my first time donating blood. I think I might have worked myself up for nothing because it is not all that bad,” she said.

Tyla is home recovering. Her parents, Donovon and Michelle Thorne, said their daughter is a true miracle and described her as strong and brave.
