The Three2Six Education Project for Refugee Children, together with Sacred Heart College, will present the Musical Theatre Performance from April 22 to 26.

Minimax Performing Arts and the MindBurst Workshop are assisting 150 refugee children at Sacred Heart College develop and stage their own musical theatre production from scratch.

The children have created books, an art exhibition and a stop-frame animation that impressed audiences. The school, based in Observatory, makes its classrooms available to the children.

Children from grade 1 to 6 attend and learn language, mathematics and life skills. Refugee teachers and volunteers manage the project.

Minimax Performing Arts agreed to work with Sacred Heart College and MindBurst to manage the production process and provide choreographers for each grade.

The performance on April 26, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, will be an advocacy performance. Money raised through donations will contribute towards the running of future holiday programmes for refugee children.

Tickets are available at Sacred Heart College, on request or by invitation. Contact the Three2Six office, 326@sacredheart.co.za, for information.
